Deals on petrol treatment and oil

Hi guys,

Just a heads up that Redex and some motor oils (castrol / magnatec) are on offer again at Tesco. They periodically seem to do this to clear out old stock, it doesn't hang around for long so if you're in the market for fuel treatment or oil its worth checking it out.

Pretty clean MOT history, could be a bargain. That handbrake is reaching for the sky though!

Re: What are your plans for 2018 ?

My plans are: - Help out with the club a bit more. - Finish the worst affected rear quarter panel repair. - Dynax in the sills - Fit decent set of cloth seats for now until I can get leather ones restored - Get the coupe MOT'ed and back on the road again. - Spray and fit the new rear spoiler - Gener...

Re: What are your plans for 2018 ?

Most importantly get Ravs car fixed up and back on the road and back to Rav. Anyone want to come weld some patches on the sills? Depending on how repairs go with mine I might be able to help out with this a bit later on. Maybe you could help me out with some mechanical bits on mine with the assista...

Re: Hyundai i30N

Sounds like a good compromise of mod cons and allowing the driver to have fun - I think its important for manufacturers not to lose sight of this, I'd love to see more (affordable) electric cars with this kind of approach. We had a Kia Cee'd a while back and that actually drove pretty well, and I be...

Re: What are your plans for 2017 ?

Well start of 2017 I wouldn't even have guessed I'd be a Tomcat owner... But here's mine - Full service [done] - See where holes appear & what falls off in first few 100 miles - [done - radiator and exhaust silencer] - Replace said parts [50 % done] - Collect parts, tools and knowledge for first ro...

A good idea

Kevin take note this may be a wise approach to adopt given your 4 willing volunteers last weekend have no prior experience or (in my case) skills in erecting 20ft Christmas trees: :P

Re: New neighbours

Yes I would say just go over and say Hi and politely ask if they would mind not parking in front of your car as you need access to be able to get it in and out. I think that's better than not addressing the issue early on, as long as everyone knows the situation with parking and who should park wher...

Re: Reluctant communication from specialists / garages

Most recently just a couple jobs on the Smart I bought - key programming and a few mechanical bits - it's nothing urgent but just things I want sorted as a preventative measure really. I decided to do everything I can myself in the end anyway. There are some good guides online I found. For the coupe...

Re: Reluctant communication from specialists / garages

I have been, and in all likelihood will continue to, do the majority of work to the coupe myself. But it is nice to know you have some backup for certain jobs you don't have the facilities (or time) to do. And especially running multiple vehicles sometimes a helping hand is needed. It's great that t...

Re: Reluctant communication from specialists / garages

Also I've found a lot of these 'specialist' businesses tend to actually turn out to be run on the side of someone's actual day job. While I respect their entrepreneurial ambition, it does leave you wondering about all kinds of things like if they are properly insured etc.

Reluctant communication from specialists / garages

Sorry for starting so many 'advice' threads but its useful to have somewhere to bounce my thoughts off fellow enthusiasts. I've found over time with a variety of automotive specialists (e.g. auto 'locksmiths', custom / modifications specialists, specific make / model experts), a bit of disinterest i...

Re: Picked up my new daily drive this weekend

Yes indeed, I'm putting new 205/45/R16 tyres on all round at the weekend for better grip in preparation for the winter. Might switch the ESP off for a bit and push it to get a feel for the limits of the thing before it gets too cold.

Re: Picked up my new daily drive this weekend

With difficulty! Its purely for commuting and since there is currently a no dogs at work policy (scant regard for workers rights in my opinion!) fortunately it is unlikely to be an issue.

Re: Picked up my new daily drive this weekend

I should've taken some pictures when I was washing the cars down last night shouldn't I? Especially since its probably the cleanest it'll be for a while too since my journey to work is a bugger for dirt. Will get some pics up soon. Here is one that the guy I bought it off took for the advert: http:/...
