Re: Ivestment

Even if the coupe reached £16 to 20k in 20 years, it would still be worth jack. £1000 for a tatty imp, is nothing despite it being more than new in 1967. £875 in 1967 wouold be about £8000 now, so in real terms, the coupe would still be pennies relatively.

Re: Ivestment

Rover Coupe's will be like my Hillman Imps. The Imp was £875 new and now 40 + years later and you need to pay £1000 for a tatty one. But they will never reach mega money because they are not desirable enough. The Coupe is a great car, but there is a reason they did not sell in massive quantities, be...

Re: Is it a classic

Alot of the classic insurance companies use either 10 or 15 years old as their boundary. So in most cases the coupe would fit. Those that only do limited millage in their cars maybe able to get something this year. Classic car insurers will give a standard quote that other insurers will do, they ma...

Re: 2k

none of my cars are worth as little as £2k, but being a classic enthusiast, I'd not look at doing it. Anyway, it's cheaper to buy a 6 month old car or a demo car and reap the discount. In my eye, no car is 'on the cusp' or a no goer in the classic world. People said Sierra's, MK1 Polo's and Metro's ...

Re: Little Confused!!!

I thought that was only on the D-Series cars and alloys became standard on the K-series? Although to be fair, that's the least of its problems ;) Nah, if ya don an anorak and check the sales brochure you'll see Steelies were standard items. Only 2 ways to improve on steelies, either stick alloys on...

Re: Coup sold... Ascona now...

Ascona's are very coolish, I had a metallic brown one a few years ago, mint condition with genuine 6k miles on clock. Traded it for 2 Opel Kadett B Coupe's and regretted it. Err, not to wish the stress of a big project, but you know that a Calibra Turbo lump would fit in that and Opel tend to have t...

Re: Little Confused!!!

DVLA records the engine as a 1600cc.

The steel wheels could be original as it was a standard fit for base models.

Re: When is a coupe not a coupe?

I got told by an insurance company that I must be mistaken and my Hillman Imp was a 4 door as they did not make a 2 door according to her computer. I started to tell her it was the other way round and then gave up. Problem you get is when you come to claim and they tell you the insurance is invalid ...

Re: Monster hunter in a accident

That could have been condensed in to one post. Taking mods off your car if you are claiming against your own insurance (shut it Martin, I know he is not) is not wise. Assuming you declare them, then they can reduce your pay out for the stuff missing that you saiud the car was fitted with... another ...

Re: THINGS ROVER DIDNT DO

Nice to see people grasp the idea of the meaning 'what ONE modification...' Roof glass sliding in to the roof would be tricky, either raise the roof line or lose even more room in the back of what is an already cramped rear. I think Rover did a pretty good job, only thing I ever really wanted in my ...
