What is that connector attached to? Or is it just floating in free air not plugged in to anything?

It's attached to the top of the engine at the rear.

Not yet Kevin, although I started it yesterday day and it was fine. I'm taking the 75 in to have the wheels restored on Monday, so I'll take the battery in to have it checked as place I bought it from is almost next door. No interior light appears to be staying on. I'm sure Bruv will be able to do a drain test though!

always good to check the boot light, hidden away it can do what it likes with no one watching.

I checked the boot light earlier by putting the camera in boot recording video footage. At least it's not that! :D

True!!!!!

Mind you, I had the camera with me and it was probably just as quick doing it my way. And in any case, we're always being told to think outside the box! :P

Well, if I wasn't slipping back into depression before, I am now. I've just put my finger through inside the rear, nearside wheel arch where it meets the sill. It's not terminal but it's not helping my mood. I won't be using in the wet until it's fixed. And I still don't know if I've got Saturday off yet either! I think I need to head up into the hills!

Oh joy. Went to start it this morning to take it to the local classic car restorer for a estimate to repair the hole I found, only to find that the new battery is totally flat

I removed the battery over the weekend to look at some bolts and replaced it again and all was fine. Any ideas? I can see I'll be coming to POL in the 75!

either something is draining the battery or the alternator is not recharging the battery. Amp meter needed :D

Another small problem. The driver's seat belt doesn't always remain clipped in, so for obvious reasons I'm not happy to use it. And of course, it would be an MOT fail! Is there a way to repair it or is it a new stalk?

I've a spare set of seats. Let me know if you want the belt stock.

There is a fix for those but I can't remember wot it is, sorry!

Try a search on here, something might come up!

Mine was playing up a few year's ago & I thought it was just easier to get a new stalk (WHEN I eventually found one)
