Club records

Post by Amsca2 » Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:33 pm

We've not had any new record posts since 2009. Must be time to set some new records

Highest mileage
Most owners
Lowest mileage
Smallest meet
Loudest exhaust (sure rav claimed this at a meet many years ago).
Most coupes (kev what's the number now)
Most rebuilds

Any takers or ideas?

Sounds good to me.

Most rebuilds would be H at 213.
Rav did claim the loudest. I might be able to borrow a meter for the xmas meet...

Anything that is agreed upon i will add to the records page.

I assumed since largest meet is already on the records page a tongue in cheek would be smallest as a recognition that it'll never be matched or even come close. :D

I am not shore how I can possible hold this recorded as it relates to how many owners a car has had and not how many cars a person owners. With the vast majority off my cars being 1 to 3 owners I will not even be competing for this one, Now if we where talking lowest number off previous owners try beating or even matching 0. if we want to talk longest owned try beating 24 years and 2 months!. Lowest mileage NASP 26,000.

H. you do not have a clue what I have had done to my cars just because I do not shout about it that does not mean nothing is getting done. the have been 4 head jobs done including sticky and burnt out values, 2 gears box jobs, 4 rear quarter repairs and re sprays, 9 patches welded on as temp repairs, about 6 break calipers replaced. rear spoilers painted the fitted, three sets off alloys refurbished and new tyres and lots off other jobs done since you last saw any off my cars. 11 off the Rovers have current MOT,s including 7 coupes. If you call that buying them and letting them all rot god knows what you think about very one else efforts!

So kevin what's the number all in of coupes in your ownership? You probably win the largest meet as well for the contents of the greenhouse.

Unfortunately not everyone has the luxury of being to keep their cars fully protected from the elements. Even many garages have problems with damp and condensation.

I plan to keep mine in the garage most of the time but there is just not enough room to work on the car or even access my tools when it's in there so it is going to have to be exposed to the elements from time to time. This is despite it being a bit larger than an average single garage.

At least Kevin is trying to preserve some vehicles and save them from being scrapped or broken. Maybe he has taken on more than most of us would think is wise but at the end of the day it's up to him. I would suggest some type of car tent / port / awning, which is actually supposed to be better than a garage due to air flow and not too expensive a solution if you have the space.

Each to their own really in my view. We all have our own way of looking after our cars, main thing is we all share a passion for the Rover Coupe so let's be positive about that and I believe this thread was originally about records so I like others would be interested to know just how many Coupes Kevin does have and if he, as we all suspect, holds that record!

Kev was in the twenties. I don't think he has got to 30 yet! I'd be impressed if anyone can beat him. (Kev my offer to work for your full time rebuilding them still stands ;) just let me get the uber shed build first)

Only 19 coupe in all at present and 35 rover in total ( I think)

Since Mid September I have not had much time to move cars back into the greenhouse for the winter do to cars shows, helping to polish others cars, collecting spare parts and two more cars that came as part off a job lot included with new panels.

The greenhouse is looking a bit unorganised even though the are only 15 rovers inside at present ( including 7 coupes) I only have side parking left for 8 more on the current setup. If a couple off people or so where able to help move about 6 non runners about then we may be able to get another & in side parking without to much clearance work.

I am trying to wash them all and then move them in and cover them up for the Winter but it could well be after Christmas before I get their on my own.

Without a lot off mussel power around 5 cars will be out in the cold all winter.

Stace and I can role back over at some point to push things around. We managed OK last time. Not sure when as I'm still trying to find time to finish the new daily Coupe.
