Road Trip

Post by Stagalfa » Thu Sep 20, 2018 4:18 pm

So last week we were on a road trip around the coast of Wales. Starting at Llandudno and driving around the coast down to St Davids before crossing the Brecon Beacons to Symmons Yat in the Wye Valley.
Roads were terrific, with wide sweeping bends and little traffic. Welsh drivers seem to be able to make good progress without breaking heavily at every bend or if something comes the other way. Condition of the roads was also very good with very few ruts or potholes. Noticed an immediate difference as soon as we crossed the Wye back into England.
We took the Rover as the Stag is in the body shop and the boot in the Toyota is too small (not for me you understand but for the other half. No I didn't put her in the boot)
We did just shy of 800 miles at an average 42 MPG with no problems from the car at all except when we clashed wing mirrors with a car coming the other way. The glass in mine popped out but didn't shatter and was saved by the 2 wires connected to it. I stopped and pushed it back in so no lasting damage apart from some scratches on the mirror cover. Didn't know the mirror was heated!
Attached should be a picture of the Rover outside Caernarvon Castle

Love the pic, the Coupe doesn't look out of place at all. Glad to see it's still looking great Carl.

Well done it again. Just got back from a tour of Devon. 900 miles trouble free over 6 days at an average of 41.5 MPG. Including a fair few miles on motorways at just over the legal limit. :D
