Vulcan's final farewell this weekend.

Post by VVC-Geeza » Thu Oct 08, 2015 10:29 pm

The only airworth Vulcan will be doing a final tour of the UK this weekend 10th/11th :(

The routes can be found here http://www.vulcantothesky.org/news/710/ ... -Tour.html with timings to follow.Northerly route Saturday and Southerly route Sunday.
Grab a last chance to see her in the air before she touches down for the final time.

Only saw it from a distance of about 2 miles as it didn't keep to the published track heading North after visiting Rolls Royce Derby.Wish I'd have gone to one of it's arrival points now.Might have to have a trip out to see it on it's Souther;y route on Sunday 8)

Superb machine. I don't suppose there will be many dry eyes amongst the spectators!

Does anyone know when it is due over Wellesbourne?

A couple of shots from Fairford.

Very nice Mick, bet that was an honour to actually step on board :0) When was this?!

BMW drivers wouldn't stand a chance in that cock pit with all those buttons & switches...they don't even know how to turn their indicator's on :D

It was yesterday Paul at East Midlands Airport onboard the Aeroparks own static display Vulcan.I had gone to see the visit and flypast of the Vulcan XH588 on it's farewell tour which had returned for a second day due to it not being allowed to overfly the runway on Saturday.

Very rare that the Aeropark staff open the static Vulcan up to the public, guess it was to mark the special occasion of the flypast. It was a great experience to go onboard, surprisingly very small in the cockpit.
