not happy .

Post by martinhodge » Mon Aug 08, 2011 2:26 am

well the the weld went holding the end tank on , on the alloy rad i have today on the fdh and as a result of me not catching it in time ive cooked the engine and ive lost compression.

im not happy to be honest . paid alot of money for this rad and it could of cost me my whole engine!

to be honest . im tempted to take a box of matches to the whole bloody car .

as ive just replaced the turbo for a new t28 ! and done all the downpipe etc etc etc water pump the lot and now this!

if its majorly fecked it will be going to the scrap yard .

I would love to help but 400 miles and my limited knowledge of engines would probably be more of an hindrance.

That's a bit of a bummer... That was a Radtec too wasn't it?

You'd be amazed how much abuse a T-series can take. Its a hardy old lump, unlike the K-series and these Honda engines. I've overheated both mine and they were perfectly fine afterwards; granted I did catch it pretty quick and fix the problem. If you've lost compression you may be lucky and get away with just replacing the HG for £25.

P.S. I take it this has something to do with the missed call I had from you yesterday afternoon?

yes it is a radtec alloy rad . hence why im rather annoyed is the polite term i shill use.

it got recovered to a garage . who are taking the head off to see if there's any other damage.

to be honest if i have burnt through the pistons . it will be going to the scrapper as a whole complete car.

ive had enough and cant be bothered any more.

Right no more negative logger on here Mart, you are fixing that coupe and thats that, first of all you do not touch nothing and I mean nothing,I want to see the Garage report, not your words the garage report,Firstly the rad was second hand was it not, ( first lesson to be learned) second you drove the car and then turned it off correct???< well I drove mine at sivlerstone on track for 6 laps cooking from lap 1 and it died and I mean died, cut out dead finito, so again I am shocked that A you did not notice the temp rise and B the car doid not stutter, no water no steam?????,and I now hear you have split the block???, amazing I say it again amazing, so when I see a garage report will not b*****s**t in it, and no what you think is wrong with it, I will then come down with the guys and every body local will come down and we will.

9 you will not go near said engine again untill 150miles
10 you will use a mechanic
11 stop useing logger second hand parts
12 if not you wll sell it and let somebody look after it as it will run smooth
13 make food and more beer
14 stop winging..

I have just sorted a block out and it ready when you are
2 you need to get some money for your aux bit]
