Rover 220 Coupe - Charcoal Grey

Post by stew » Thu Jun 18, 2020 12:45 pm

Preamble for those interested: https://forum.rover-coupe.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37071
Project thread: https://forum.rover-coupe.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=35908

I'm in Ely, Cambridgeshire and been a coupe owner and active with the club / forum over the last 3 years.

Details of the car can be found below:
1995 'M' Reg in Charcoal Grey with 2 litre naturally aspirated T-Series engine
- MOT till April 2021
- 123k miles
- 4x new aftermarket DBV alloys with matching tyres (worth a few quid even if you don't like them!)
- 2 working keys with remote fobs and full size spare steel wheel
- Huge history file going back to original Rover servicing
- Mostly standard except recently fitted MGF leather steering wheel and aftermarket gearknob but the originals will come with the car
- Lots of parts replaced or rebuilt in my ownership, if interested I can supply a full list!
- No major rot or rust due to both sills being welded and:
- Dynax anti-rust wax in injected sills and applied to inner wheel arches

Downsides:
- Some very small patches of rust remaining (2 on front passenger wing, 1 on driver's side door at bottom, and at the rear of both rear arches).
- A few small dents and scratches
- Some obvious touched up areas of paintwork
- Water leak in boot

I am looking for £2250.

PM me or email stewart@ssims.co.uk if you want more information.

More detailed pictures to follow - I just wanted to get the word out there first.

Updated with initial photos - more to come / available on request.

Yes H - I certainly think it's a reasonable asking price. At that price I'm sure anyone who wants it will drive away happy and I'll probably throw in some of the spares I've collected too.

It will stay until I can find the right buyer, I'm in no rush and I want it to go to someone who will continue to look after it. If it takes time well then I just have a nice coupe to enjoy a bit longer.

I have added a few more photos to better illustrate the condition of the car and show the really nice history file, which goes right back to the original owner, but please get in touch as I have loads more photos and happy to take more on request too.

Can't remember how often threads in here get deleted so will be bumping this one every so often. Might as well pop any updates on the car here too. Had a fair run at the weekend, no issues to report, driving nicely.

Yes, as traffic is far less these days, and things might not sell so quick, so we have turned the auto-pruining on a few sub-forums to keep things alive longer.

Also, with ebay ad's staying alive for years now, it was a pain posting a long term relevant part for people and the it going after a month...

Will keep it carefully monitored, if database grows too much might be an issue, we will see....

Cool thanks for letting me know Rich - the club are fortunate that you have stepped in to take on some of the website stuff :D

Car is still available, now listed also on Car and Classic.

Don't reduce it, just put it on ebay and various other FB sites, they are going up in price not down..

Don't worry she's on eBay now and getting a lot of interest already, so not going to knock any more off the asking price, would be madness as I have the space to store the car for the foreseeable future so I'm not in any rush. Also managing to shift a few parts I've had for sale for ages now, there seems to be a lot more cars and parts changing hands, pent up demand I guess now restrictions are relaxed a bit.
